Acupuncture can help to relieve a wide range of pain conditions, including chronic low back pain, knee pain, migraine and headache.

Low back pain is a common health issue and it is estimated that in industrialised countries over 70% of adults suffer from low back pain at some stage in their life.   The discomfort, pain and limitations in function can severely impact on quality of life.

Many people prefer to try a non-drug approach to relieving pain because it has a lower risk of side-effects.  This is where acupuncture can help.

Whilst there is a need for additional research into the effects of acupuncture, a recent review of systematic reviews found that acupuncture is effective for short-term pain relief and functional improvement for chronic low back pain.

Acupuncture can assist in:

  • Relief of chronic low back pain
  • Management of pain, fatigue and nausea related to many chronic diseases
  • Management of pain, stress and fatigue related to some autoimmune disorders, in consultation with other treating health practitioners
  • Chronic pain related to depression by managing the underlying chronic pain
  • Pregnancy related pain
